Purple Pinkie Project
Supporting Rotary's worldwide effort to eradicate polio.
About the Purple Pinkie Project
Each year, Hubbard Rotary participates in the Purple Pinkie fundraiser to help raise awareness and support the worldwide effort to eradicate polio.
In areas where oral polio vaccines are administered during large-scale immunization campaigns, a child's pinkie fingernail is marked after vaccination.
The purple pinkie has become a recognizable symbol of Rotary's commitment to protecting children and working toward a polio-free world.

Why the Purple Pinkie?
During some polio vaccination campaigns, a child's pinkie is marked after receiving the oral polio vaccine. This helps vaccination teams identify children who have already received their dose.
That simple purple mark has become a symbol of the progress being made through vaccination, fundraising, advocacy, and community support.
